WHAT IS E-FOILING?
Efoiling, also known as electric foiling, is a water-based recreational activity that involves riding a hydrofoil board powered by an electric motor. It combines elements of surfing, wakeboarding, and flying. The hydrofoil board, or efoil, is equipped with a mast and a wing-like hydrofoil, which extends below the water surface.
When the motor is activated by a remote control, it drives a propeller located beneath the board, providing thrust and propelling the efoil forward. As the efoil gains speed, the hydrofoil generates lift, lifting the board out of the water and reducing drag. This creates a smooth and effortless riding experience as the board glides above the water surface.
We use Waydoo e-foils due to their ease of use and soft outer layer making them perfect for learning.
WHY AN EFOIL
Flying on any hydrofoil requires power. Whether it is the power of a wave to propel you, the power of a kite/wing to catch the wind, or the power of a boat to pull you, a rider is confined in where they can go by their power source. The eFoil turns the game on its head by building the power source into the board delivering consistent, smooth, and predictable power that can take you anywhere. Because the boards are typically much bigger than a standard foil board, it provides you a stable platform on which to stand confidently as you learn to fly in control. It's this combination that makes it so much easier to learn along with our radio helmets.
